Skyline Drive follows the narrow crest of a hogback ridge, with the road surface barely wider than a single car in places. The drive offers 360-degree views of Canon City below and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the south.
Prehistoric Footprints
Look for signs marking dinosaur track fossils embedded in the rock along the route. These trace fossils date back approximately 100 million years, adding a prehistoric dimension to the scenic experience.
