Since 1989, Royal Gorge Helitours has been giving visitors an unforgettable bird's-eye view of one of Colorado's most dramatic landscapes. Flying in their Robinson R66 turbine-powered helicopter, passengers witness the 1,250-foot-deep Royal Gorge carved by the Arkansas River over millions of years.

Tour Options

The Royal Gorge Run covers 24 miles in approximately 12 minutes of flight time, offering the most comprehensive aerial tour of the canyon, bridge, and surrounding terrain. The Bridge Run provides a focused 16-mile, 8-minute experience ideal for those short on time. Sunset Flights capture the canyon bathed in golden light as the last flight of the day.

What You'll See

The flight takes you directly over the famous suspension bridge—955 feet above the Arkansas River—providing a perspective impossible from any other vantage point. The rugged granite canyon walls, the winding river below, and the vast Colorado landscape spread out beneath you create a truly unforgettable experience.

Photography Welcome

Bring your camera or smartphone—photography is encouraged (just no flash). For the ultimate souvenir, rent a GoPro 360 camera that captures your entire flight in immersive detail, with the SD card given to you afterward.

Booking Notes

Walk-in flights available 10am-6pm, or book by reservation. When you book, you're chartering the helicopter for your group with a minimum of 2 passengers per flight. The R66 seats up to 4 passengers plus pilot, with excellent visibility from every seat.
